The WURHA 2014 Conference Staff is proud to announce that we will support Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin with our philanthropy portion of the conference!
Make-A-Wish® happens to be the biggest wish granting charity in the world, granting more than 225,000 wishes nationally. The Wisconsin chapter was founded in 1984, and grants around 300 wishes annually. Last year, Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin granted a record number of wishes at 325!
WURHA 2014 will be sponsoring Alexander, a 16-year-old from Union Grove, Wisconsin. Alexander has been diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia, and wishes to go to the 2014 NBA All Star Game. The picture featured is of Alexander with Larry Sanders.
PHILANTHROPY
Each delegation will have the opportunity to sell Make-A-Wish® stars that come in packs of 100. Delegations will be able to set their own price for the stars. When someone donates, they will be able to write their name on the star. Make sure to keep the star, though. Delegations are encouraged to sell these stars and then bring them with to the conference. The stars will be turned in during registration, and there are spirit points involved!
